Jim joined Clark Dietz in 1999, returning in 2003 as a boomerang employee and building a remarkable 24-year tenure. Throughout his career, he brought expertise across all phases of design and construction, including surveying, drainage, roadway design, site improvements, and utility infrastructure design. His technical proficiency extended to process design using advanced civil engineering software, where he developed digital terrain models, cross sections, alignments, earthwork computations, and more.
Jim’s work ethic, dedication to precision, and ability to collaborate with both clients and colleagues have been hallmarks of his career. His influence can be seen in the successful projects he led and the relationships he fostered, particularly with Parkland College, where his expertise supported their vision for over two decades.
Beyond his technical contributions, Jim’s mentorship and willingness to share his knowledge have profoundly impacted his teammates. “Jim approached every challenge with clarity and purpose,” shared a Clark Dietz staff member. “He had a way of making complex problems seem manageable and always encouraged us to strive for excellence.”
As Jim retires, we reflect on his enduring contributions to Clark Dietz and the engineering community. His commitment to high-quality work and strong client relationships are exemplary of our Clark Dietz values that guide our purpose.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jim on his retirement. May this next chapter bring him joy, relaxation, and the time to pursue the passions that bring him the most happiness!
