We are pleased to announce the promotion of Brian Powers, PE, CFM, to Team Leader – Civil/Environmental for our Central Indiana operations. Brian has been a vital part of Clark Dietz since joining in 2014, serving as a Senior Engineer and Project Manager in our Indianapolis office for the past 11 years.

With 22 years of industry experience, Brian brings a wealth of expertise in stormwater analysis and design. His work spans storm, sanitary, and potable water projects, where he has led scoping studies, preliminary and final design, and construction phase services. His proficiency with advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools (including SWMM5, XP-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS) has been instrumental in delivering solutions for floodplain management, utility master plans, long-term control plans, culvert and floodplain analysis, and storm and sanitary sewer design.

In addition to his water resources expertise, Brian has significant transportation-related drainage experience, including culvert design, detention pond development, ditch grading, bridge hydraulics evaluation, and BMP implementation. His technical skills and problem-solving approach have contributed to the success of numerous infrastructure projects across Indiana and Illinois.

Brian has played a key role in serving major clients, including the City of Indianapolis, Hamilton County, the City of Greenfield, the City of Decatur, the Citizens Energy Group, and many more. His deep understanding of stormwater management, infrastructure planning, and regulatory compliance has helped these communities and agencies enhance their resilience and sustainability.

Brian is a licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana and Illinois and an active member of ACEC Indiana, the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, the Association of State Floodplain Managers, and the Indiana Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
